Budget Title: Staff Associate (SL-4)

Salary: $62,000-$75,000

The Fleishman Center for Career and Professional Development seeks an Associate Director for Employer Relations & Engagement to manage and build successful employer relations in order to provide meaningful internship and employment opportunities for all Binghamton University students on a local, regional, and national level. As part of the Employer Engagement & Partnership Team, the position will engage in employer development and outreach activities to establish and maintain relationships with employer representatives. The role will support the growth and management of employer relationships and cultivate internship and job opportunities for all undergraduate and graduate students and develop pathways for employers to engage with our campus.

The core responsibilities of the Associate Director for Employer Relations & Engagement will be to:

  • Research and stay informed on employment and recruiting-related trends that support Binghamton University's wide variety of majors and programs.
  • Support and implement strong employer relationship building & management to establish effective college recruitment strategies and advance relationships with prospective, new, and active employers.
  • Execute the proactive employer development strategy. Serve as a consultant to employers to expand their talent pipelines and provide employers with engagement opportunities that foster mentoring and networking with students.
  • Proactively initiate classroom-based projects and partner with faculty and industry to provide students with career-ready skills and connections.
  • Partner with campus partners such as:
    • The Student Engagement team to ensure employers reach appropriately targeted students
    • The Office of Alumni Engagement to create a baseline of key alumni to strengthen and identify job development opportunities
    • Key University offices such as Center for Civic Engagement, Binghamton University Research Foundation, Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and/or Office of International Student Scholars and Services
  • Maintain ongoing statistics, analyze the metrics of the recruiting operation, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required.
  • Travel within the region, state, and country will be required.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, human resources, or related area is required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with diverse populations
  • Ability to work independently, highly motivated, and results-driven
  • Strong attention to detail with strong customer service and follow-up skills

Preferred:

  • MBA or master's degree
  • Prior experience successfully leading a college or university-based recruiting operation and/or working in a talent-acquisition setting
  • Knowledge of industry and employment trends
  • Significant local, state, and/or national employer connections
