Farr West Engineering (Farr West) is a growing, prominent, civil engineering firm with offices in Reno and Elko, Nevada. Farr West specializes in water and wastewater utility design and water resources. Our clients are primarily municipal utilities in northern Nevada and the Lake Tahoe Basin/eastern Sierra. On July 1, 2022, Farr West merged with DOWL, LLC, giving our employees opportunities for growth and expansion of their expertise to offices in six other western states while continuing to work with clients in our current service areas. The integration will be complete January 1, 2023.

Applicants should have approximately 1-3 years of experience, a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering and be a licensed civil engineer or certified engineer-in-training (EIT). Prior employment with a civil engineering firm that specializes in utility engineering, water, sewer, and wastewater projects is preferred. Applicants should have previous experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, and designing community water/sewer systems, pump stations, utilities, etc. Experience with hydraulic modeling is a plus.

Duties will include team involvement on multiple projects, design, bidding, and construction management of public works projects involving water and wastewater facilities. Duties may also include supervision and mentoring of other engineers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
