Thus, as a Lead Teacher, you will work closely with the Teacher Mentor and fellow Leads in learning cohorts to co-create opportunities and provocations that engage the students in your care in meaningful child-directed learning.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain a high professional standard for leadership, appearance, teaching and communication.
- Lead teach or co-teach an infant, toddler, two’s, or preschool classroom.
- Work closely with Teacher Mentor and Co-Leads to implement a Reggio Emilia approach to children’s learning through observations and reflective meetings, as well as commit to develop your own knowledge of the Reggio Emilia approach.
- Work thoughtfully and collaboratively in teaching teams to create fun and interactive learning experiences for our students.
- With the guidance of the Teacher Mentor, utilize your skills of observing and listening to the children, documenting projects, and promoting and conducting research following an emergent curriculum/ project-based setting.
- Guide and supervise assistant teachers and floater teachers involved in your classroom throughout the day, providing direction and ensuring engagement with children for the best possible school experience.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
- We want an inquisitive, energetic, dependable, and passionate individual who:
- is at least 19-years of age
- has at least 60 semester hours of credits from an accredited university with 6-semester hours in childcare and/or child development, from birth to age six
- OR, 1-year of experience in a licensed daycare facility or kindergarten, with 30 semester hours of credits and 6-semester hours in childcare and/or child development, from birth to age six.
- understands that our students are competent, creative, curious and capable learners
- Familiarity with Reggio Emilia approach, and/or emergent curriculum, and/or project-based curriculum (preferred)

Job Type: Part-time (to start), Full-Time may be available on a limited basis

COVID-19 considerations:
Children wash hands regularly. Classrooms and common surfaces are cleaned/sanitized daily.
All faculty and staff are required to provide proof of vaccination or be subject to weekly Covid-19 testing.

Experience:
