Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

Penfield Country Club was originally designed and constructed by Course Architect Pete Craig in 1958. Recently PCC has gone through a complete bunker renovation with Course Architect Ian Andrew in 2019. The bunkers were renovated with sod bottoms and new drainage. The renovation also included greenside run offs, collection areas and tree removal. A tree removal program has been implemented and began earlier this year with the vision and guidance of Ian Andrew. The past few years the club has taken on many projects not only on the golf course but also in and around the clubhouse and grounds. In 2014, PCC installed a new Toro Infinity irrigation system with all new HDPE pipe and Watertronics pump station. This past winter, PCC built a new mechanic’s shop with a new staff maintenance facility in the future.

Penfield Country Club is looking for the right candidate to join our team who can lead and motivate individuals. The ideal candidate will be part of the management team and will learn all facets of golf course operations. PCC is a family orientated Country Club with a healthy membership that is growing every year in all areas.

Assistant responsibilities include but not limited to:

· Chemical/Fertilizer Applications

· Staff Scheduling/Management

· Chemical/Fertilizer Inventory

· Irrigation repair

· Daily course setup

· Hiring/Training new employees

· Implementing golf course improvement projects

· Water management

· Bunker Maintenance

Job requirements:

· Punctual

· Hard working

· Team player

· Available to work weekends & holidays

· Must have or be able to attain a New York State pesticide license

· Excellent work ethic and attitude to join our positive work culture

Education:

· 2- or 4-year Turfgrass degree or similar degree preferred

Experience:

· Minimum of 1-2 years as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent preferred

Salary/Wage: $50,000 - $60,000, Commensurate with experience
