Assistant Professor of Statistics Job at Wentworth Institute of Technology
The School of Computing and Data Science at Wentworth Institute of Technology invites applications for a
full-time faculty position in statistics at the Assistant Professor rank to begin August 15th, 2023.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. at the time of appointment in Statistics, Data Science, or in another science field (provided they also hold a M.S in Statistics).
The typical teaching load is three Statistics, Data Science, or Applied Mathematics courses in each of the Fall and Spring semesters. Additionally, there are opportunities for summer teaching. Although the primary mission of the faculty is teaching, a successful candidate is also expected to engage in research, and to perform service to the University, such as advising, developing curricula, and serving on committees.
Applicants must have at least one year of undergraduate or graduate teaching experience. Responsibilities will include teaching courses in support of our undergraduate applied mathematics major, undergraduate data science major, as well as our graduate data science program. All candidates should have research experience as demonstrated by publications, presentations, or products related to the practice of statistics.
