Preschool Teacher (full-time)

Children's Lighthouse – Cedar Park, TX

We are looking for a second teacher for our early preschool program. You will teach them important elements that they will encounter soon after they enter school life. An infant/toddler teacher must have a great love and patience for children. The goal is to contribute to a healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education. We have a very supportive Administrative team. We know the importance of our teacher's well being. Both the Director and Assistant Director have many years of classroom experience and support the staff by helping out in classrooms and providing the tools staff need to be successful. We have monthly preplanned teacher appreciation activities and multiple teambuilding activities each year.

Responsibilities of the teacher

• Develop a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children
• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
• Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
• Track children’s progress and report to parents
• Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
• Collaborate with other educators
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
• Follow provided curriculum and preplanned activity while having the ability to modify lessons to meet the direct needs of the students.

Requirements:

- Ability to genuinely enjoy babies
- Early childhood experience preferred
- Dependable and professional
- Positive and flexible attitude
- Exceed state minimum licensing requirements at all times by providing a stimulating and safe environment for all children at all times
- Proof of education required.
- Must be 18 years of age
- FBI background clearance upon hire
- Physically able to perform the duties of the job (lifting, kneeling, sitting, etc.)
