Assistant Manager Distribution Center Job at KGPCo

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • In partnership with Distribution Center Manager, builds employee engagement and a high performing team by recruiting, training and retaining the best talent within span of control
  • Assists in planning, leading and directing distribution activities including administrative, order picking, shipping, receiving, returned goods inventory and quality control for timely delivery of customer orders in adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Support a safety and quality culture by ensuring warehouse area cleanliness in adherence to OSHA and KGPCo’s policies, training and following safety rules and protocols.
  • Effectively manage expenses within budget while ensuring that distribution schedules are met.
  • Proactively identifies areas for improvement, build action plans and seek opportunities to grow the business and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Assists with managing TL9000, ISO and audits responsibilities
  • Conducts facility tours for existing and potential clients
  • Responsible for emergency coverage (24x7)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 2 years of warehouse or distribution center experience
  • Prior supervisory warehouse or distribution center experience
  • Proven ability to lead others and motive them to success in meeting or exceeding customer expectations
  • Build good partnership within all areas of the organization by exhibiting excellent interpersonal leadership
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle change management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
  • Must have valid acceptable driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as: discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
