Posting Summary
The Assistant Director of Student Academic Success will develop, coordinate, and implement retention and assessment initiatives and provide support for Raptor Connect (EAB). Additionally, the incumbent will work with Rutgers-Camden student-facing units to develop assessment plans and design matrices and tools to measure those plans as they relate to retention efforts. The incumbent will demonstrate solid analytical and research skills to track student success, assess student support programs, and strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with students, faculty and staff. Finally, the assistant director will make appropriate recommendations and implement new support service programs, program improvements, and enhancements.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and five years of professional experience in higher education with a focus on student success, qualitative/quantitative assessment, student service delivery, retention initiatives, and/or institutional research is required.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree will be highly preferred in the ideal candidate.
- Experience leading assessment and/or retention initiatives is preferred.
- Knowledge of assessment practices and methods; familiarity with learning theory and pedagogy is preferred
Equipment Utilized
Candidate must have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of statistical software (SPSS; PSU; MiniTab); presentation software (Ppt.; Prezi).

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster upon eligibility and upload proof of same. Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply.
