Assistant Director of Transfer Relations, Enrollment Management (Part-Time Position) Job at Colorado School of Mines

Strategic leadership: 20%
- Collaborate with the leadership of Enrollment Management to articulate and implement a department vision for a new Transfer Relations Department
- Collaborate with Office of Institutional Research to develop data-tracking mechanisms to monitor and evaluate transfer student outcomes
- Collect, analyze and report data to improve transfer practices, procedures and policies impact student success
- Assist with Transfer student grant opportunities when they arise and also seek out opportunities
- Assist the Mines Foundation on opportunities for transfer funding when/where possible
- Support the development of reverse transfer policy and practice to support program completion
- Collaborate to develop and define specific transfer programs through the creation of MOUs and other such inter-institutional and partnership agreements
- Represent Mines interests with the Colorado State Department of Higher Ed and with other public universities/colleges in all matters of transfer and credit articulation
- Articulate and apply fluency in CO Dept. of Higher Ed policies and goals surrounding transfer of credit and articulation
Partnership development: 40%
- Maintain professional working relationships with designated liaisons at Colorado Community College System institutions and other select partner institutions (i.e., Metropolitan University of Denver) to maintain or finalize transfer-related initiatives, programs and/or policies, including the Mines Academy at Red Rocks Community College
- Support Admissions outreach efforts by attending/hosting events at/for community college partners:
- Mines Academy activities at/for RRCC
- Outreach and recruitment activities at/for other CCCS institutions
- External to Colorado partners as funding and/or time permits
- Facilitate curriculum development workshops to co-develop courses in the CCCS curriculum for transferability to Mines, such as
- EDNS101
- HASS100
- CSCI101/102
Student Success: 40%
- Collaborate with campus partners, including but not limited to faculty, CASA, MEP, Student Life, Registrar’s Office, Career Services and Veterans to determine unique needs of transfer students to help them successfully integrate into the campus community
- Oversee the development, implementation and logistics of experiences for transfer students that promote community and academic engagement, and foster a strong connection to the institution
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelors’ degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
- 10+ years of professional experience with college students in an advising, mentoring, or leadership role.
- Prior experience working with high level administrators in education or policy experts or experience in state-wide policy work.
- Prior experience working with faculty on curriculum development.
- Prior experience in developing transfer pathways, managing transfer programs and transfer student supports in a college or university setting.
- Demonstrated experience in program or project development, implementation and assessment.
- Professional oral and writing communication skills, strong organizational and project management skills, strong public speaking skills and proficiency with computer software.
- A masters’ degree in a relevant field such as higher education administration, educational leadership, educational psychology, curriculum and development, etc.
- 5+ years of prior experience in developing and managing transfer programs and transfer student supports in a college or university setting.
- A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity of perspective.

Mines takes into consideration a combination of candidate’s education, training and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, work location, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.
