New York Tech is currently seeking an Assistant Director, International Admissions. This is a hybrid position with flexibility of working remotely and in our NYC or Old Westbury offices as in line with New York Tech policy.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Associate Director of International Admissions, the Assistant Director will play a critical role in assisting New York Tech with meeting international undergraduate and graduate enrollment goals through recruitment and outreach, application review, marketing initiatives and other activities. Specific recruitment territories will be assigned by the direct supervisor. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):


  • Assist in the creation and execution of the strategic international enrollment management plan for an assigned territory, which includes:
    • Analyzing and using data to develop a recruitment strategy;
    • Participating in virtual and in-person recruitment initiatives both domestically and internationally
    • Coordinating in-person and virtual information sessions/meetings;
    • Building and maintaining relationships with international college counselors, schools, overseas government agencies, recruitment agents and other external constituents to market and promote New York Tech
    • Staying current on international enrollment trends and strategies
  • Advise prospective international students from inquiry to enrollment about New York Tech’s undergraduate and graduate programs, financial aid and scholarship opportunities, the application process, VISA regulations and university programs and services.
  • Review international first year, transfer and graduate applications/academic credentials to render admission decisions; coordinate with academic departments to manage their review of applications and supporting documents where necessary.
  • Assist in communication plan development as well as direct communication campaigns/follow up strategies to secure application documents and other needed credentials from international first year, transfer and graduate students.
  • Aid in the development of marketing initiatives that help support the growth of international enrollment (i.e.: marketing/social media ideas, student engagement campaigns, etc.)
  • Participate in and support New York Tech on-campus and virtual events including first-year, transfer and graduate events. These include evening and/or weekend open houses and admitted student events throughout the academic year.
  • Maintain a schedule for and conduct one-on-one virtual and in-person appointments with students.
  • Act as a liaison between admissions and other internal departments including International Education, Academic Program Departments, Academic Advising, Financial Aid, Registrar, Bursar, etc.


  • Additional responsibilities include:
  • Developing a functional knowledge of other admissions areas (i.e.: First Year, Transfer and Graduate) through participation in cross training events for the purposes of attending events, reading applications and communicating with potential students, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • At least one year of Admissions or higher education experience is preferred.
  • Candidates must be able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language is preferred but not required.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and an interest in learning to use Social Media Platforms for marketing and engagement purposes.
  • Experience with student information systems is preferred; knowledge of PeopleSoft and CRM systems is a plus
  • Qualified candidates should have excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, organizational, critical thinking and prioritizing skills. Attention to detail and confidentiality is integral.
  • This position will require evening and weekend work as well as travel to recruitment events and travel to other New York Tech campuses. A valid driver’s license and passport are required.

Minimum Salary: USD $58,500.00/Yr. Maximum Salary: USD $58,500.00/Yr.
