Start your new career as an Assembly Operator with MAU in Hampton, GA. As an Assembly Operator, you will perform repetitive bench or line assembly operations to mass-produce high voltage electrical switches or switch subassemblies.

  • $17.75 per hour, with a $0.50 shift differential
  • 1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift, Monday – Friday, 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM

What We Are Looking For:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ months of related experience and/or training
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be able to repetitively lift 50 pounds and stand for the duration of the shift

What You’ll Do As An Assembly Operator:

  • Read and understand all assembly blueprints, assembly manuals, special assembly instructions, and safety rules
  • Position and secure components on assembly fixtures, if needed
  • Inspect and measure parts to ensure specified tolerance and quality
  • Place parts in specified relationship to each other following assembly blueprints
  • Fasten parts with bolts, clips, screws, cements, or other fasteners, utilizing hand tools and portable power tools
  • Operate machinery such as drill presses, punch presses, and riveting machines to perform drilling, force fitting, or fastening
  • Mark identifying information on parts
  • Remove small quantities of metal with hand and air files to produce close fit between parts
  • Cross train on various workstations to fill in, as needed
  • Install switch components, such as bearings, insulators, jaws, hinges, blades, or counterbalances
  • Rework, repair, and/or replace faulty components
  • Clean and lubricate parts and assemblies
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly workstation
  • Other duties as assigned by management
