JOB DESCRIPTION:

Integrity Business Solutions is currently seeking qualified ASL Medical Interpreters to provide in-person/face-to-face interpretation and translation services at various Military Treatment Facilities in Oahu, Hawaii. Services will be as requested by the facility, within 24 hours of request, and will take place at the Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), Schofield Barracks Health Clinic and/or Warrior Ohana Medical Home in Honolulu, HI. This is an ACTIVE awarded contract.

• Conducting consecutive and accurate translation, transcription, and interpretation services of on-going conversations and medical activities into, from and between the SCRL(s) and English.
• Providing accurate idiomatic translations of non-technical material using correct syntax and expression from English to the SCRL(s) or vice versa, as well as the linguist ability to interpret/translate using colloquial and slang words and phrases.
• Accurately providing the cultural and ethnic context of translations and interpretations and provide advice to the Requiring Activity (RA) on the cultural and ethnic significance of statements, conversations, situations, documents.
• Accurately performing document exploitation (scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents for medical information).
• Supplementing interpretations and translations with information pertinent and specific to professional fields such as medicine, scientific, engineering, legal.

Preferred Skills:

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be verified as meeting the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and National Association of the Deaf (NAD) qualification standards and complete annual continuing education requirements.
• Must have a knowledge and experience with medical terminology and healthcare practices.
• Must follow a professional code of ethics that places fundamental importance on maintaining accuracy and patient confidentiality.
