Special Police Officer Job Summary

Compensation:

Armed SPO’s, individuals with deployment experience, Military MP’s, strong security background and experience are preferred. Experience working in Level III environments is a plus.

We are looking for, dedicated and experienced Special Police Officers to serve and protect our client’s community and property. You will perform a variety of job duties, including patrolling the properties interior and exterior premises to prevent crime and enforce client rules and regulations as well as city, state, and federal laws. We expect all of our officers to have a strong work ethic, integrity, good judgment under pressure, and a passion for protecting the general public.

Armed Special Police Officer Responsibilities:

• Patrols and inspects buildings and adjacent grounds. Responds to calls for service and takes appropriate action.
• Screens lists of authorized residents against all persons entering and exiting buildings at secured and controlled entrances and exits.
• Complete “Identification” checks to make sure visitors are acceptable; logs all visitors as to the date, time and destination. Logs out departures.
• Monitors all safety devices such as fire alarm systems, elevators and security equipment; and responds to emergencies when these devices are activated.
• Notifies the Property Management Office of floods, fires and other hazardous
• Notifies the Metropolitan Police Department and the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services of all life-threatening emergencies.
• Makes necessary arrests in accordance with the District of Columbia Code; and contacts the appropriate law enforcement agency for transportation and assistance.
• Directs traffic (vehicle and pedestrian); controls parking entrances; issues and/or requests traffic violation notices.
• Enforces truancy laws.
• Receives, issues and accounts for all keys to Authority buildings, offices and locked gates.
• Maintains a 24-hour log of all criminal or unusual activity, incidents or anything requiring action.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
