We are seeking innovative individuals who want to apply the skills they are learning in school and/or apply previous experience to tackle real world problems and influence next-gen memory technology in our world-class Technology Development Fab in Boise. This position is within our Physical Failure Analysis group which is part of our Technology Development organization.
Micron apprenticeships offer a “earn while you learn” model that is flexible based on current school schedule. Responsibilities include learning and developing practical skills, participating in classes and workshops on and offsite, following all safety procedures.
You should be well-organized, flexible, able to multi-task and willing to assist wherever possible. Successful apprentices will have exhibit time-management skills and be willing to fit into the existing staff structure. We need outstanding apprentices who respond well to constructive feedback, work well with coworkers, and can learn and apply skills on the job.
Apprentice Responsibilities:
- Complete certifications and learning events. This will contribute to developing and helping in the department while also learning about other aspects of Micron
- Work with SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopes) and FIB (Focused Ion Beam) platforms to monitor processes and experiments
- Work with Plasma-etchers, Acid Hoods, and delayer samples
- Follow all health and safety procedures and certifications
- Work in the labs and learn the procedures and policies for data return in support of the Fab
- Act on constructive feedback with a positive demeanor
- Build professional relationships with colleagues and customers
Apprentice Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- Currently enrolled (or planning to enroll) in College of Western Idaho’s AAS Technical Degree program
- Completed 1 year of AAS or equivalent technician experience or certifications
- Ability to work different shifts and handle lifting of less than 30 lbs and work in the acid hood
- Good time management, communication skills, ability to prioritize and a desire to form positive professional relationships with your coworkers
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- A growth mindset and passion for learning
