Applications Support Specialist Job at Jamestown Management Corporation
The Application Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical and functional support and guidance to end users in the organization as it relates to the efficient use of software programs to effectively meet business needs. In addition to providing support and guidance, the Application Support Specialist is also tasked with minimizing support requests by providing training, writing policies and procedures and resolving common problems quickly and efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two to four years of experience in related field; or
- Any combination of technical education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Identify, research, and resolve technical and/or functional application problems.
- Perform root cause analyses and resolutions for complex problems.
- Recommend computing products or services that meet end user needs
- Advise on application design alternatives and business process change opportunities.
- Provide training to employees on new and/or upgraded applications.
- Create and maintain manuals that describe policies, procedures, interface changes and training requirements.
- Perform basic quality assurance and/or testing on custom reports, application upgrades, version roll-outs and application implementation
- Knowledge of : Argus, Nexus, MRI
