Unix Automation Developer
On site: Charlotte, NC

W2 Hourly Contract: $47-$57 per hour*
Are you looking for a long term contract with great rates and every other Friday off? If you're a US Citizen with solid experience in UNIX and the ability to write code in Perl, Python, Go, etc., this could be the gig for you!
We need a UNIX Automation Developer who can work cross-functionally with business /IT operations and to create and optimize workflow processes. If you're the person we're looking for, your day to day work will be to:
- Lead initiatives related to designing and managing workflow automation projects, testing and fixing bugs.
- Design, develop and test automation workflows in order to improve business processes and create efficiencies to meet business objectives
- Work with process analysts, IT professionals, business leaders and other cross-functional resources to define and deliver automation projects.
- Work directly with stakeholders to capture business requirements and translate them into technical approaches and designs that can be implemented.
- Collaborate with development team members to ensure proper implementation and integration of the solutions.
- Maintain existing solutions, modifying for enhancements, troubleshooting, identifying and fixing errors and implementing change requirements as part of a structured change control process.
- Anticipate, identify, track and resolve technical issues and risks affecting delivery.
- Attend design reviews and testing meetings being responsible for the changes that result from the meeting.
- Accurately analyzing and estimating new processes, quickly assessing feasibility.
- Support deployments or troubleshoot production issues outside of work hours and participate in an on-call rotation as-needed.
- Support skills transfer by mentoring newly trained resources on best practices and development techniques.
Skills and experience required for success in this role include:
- Did I mention US Citizenship? You must be a US Citizen to be eligible for consideration in this role
- Bachelor degree in related discipline
- 5 + year of UNIX experience required including use of
- Red Hat
- Oracle Linux
- Solaris
- Puppet Enterprise
- Must have the ability to write code in Perl, Python, Go, etc
- Demonstrated ability to design technical specification documents for automation Projects.
- Experience developing and consuming APIs.
- Full stack web development skills a plus
- Experience with mysql, php or javascript desired
- Exposure to VMWare vRealize big plus
