Salary: Starting at $49,920 - $62,400 DOE
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Capital Area IU is looking for an accountant to develop, prepare, review, analyze, maintain, and adjust program budgets. This position also plans and implements business-related policies, programs, and procedures; coordinates, directs, and performs financial reporting and related accounting functions to ensure timely accounting and reporting and to maintain internal controls; fiduciary responsibility to ensure proper expenditure of all funds in accordance with grant agreements.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
Experience Required: At least three years of increasingly responsible experience in the areas of accounting, finance, and/or budgeting preferred.
Other Qualifications: Knowledge of financial accounting and generally accepted accounting and audit principles, practices, and procedures required; Knowledge of state and federal standards and requirements concerning the accounting and reporting of program budgets preferred; Experience in education considered a plus.
