Duties

  • Assist patrons in use of the facility by checking out equipment, providing safety instructions, guiding trail rides, demonstrating new or unusual hobby techniques, and answering facility questions.
  • Ensures that proper mounts (horses) are assigned to patrons, maintains general cleanliness of main house/barn, and assists in preparing horses for customer use by saddling/bridling/grooming/etc.
  • Mows grass, trims and edges walkways, waters plants, and cleans out drainage ditches; moves material using wheelbarrows, hand trucks or dollies, stacks and arranges supplies for storage.
  • Works independently following proper safety procedures and performs simple maintenance on equipment.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-15m, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation is required.
  • Requires frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 40-75 pounds.
  • Required to follow safety procedures and use standard safety equipment such as gloves and safety glasses to avoid possible hazards in the work area.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license to operate vehicle.
  • Required to stand, walk, and bend for lengthy period of time.
  • May be exposed to weather conditions when working outdoors.
  • Exposed to drafts, noise, dust, and dirt.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be able to ride, saddle and handle horses.
  • Must be able to follow instructions to clean and condition riding supplies and equipment.
  • Must be able to operate a lawnmower, use rakes and similar tools and equipment.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license to operate vehicle.
