We are seeking an experienced analyst to join our team. Reporting directly to our Laboratory Manager you will help run day to day testing in the toxicology department. This position will be responsible for LC/MS/MS techniques performed in the laboratory. This position requires strong work ethic, excellent written and communication skills, ability to work independently while in sync with the team to produce the highest quality results for our customers. At Orion there is plenty of room for growth throughout our full-service clinical laboratory.
Operation of analytical instrumentation including but not limited to the following: LC/MS/MS. All phases of sample and reagent preparation, data analysis and review. Must be flexible and demonstrate the ability to change priorities to meet goals quickly.
Proficient computer skills, organizational, multitasking, and critical thinking skills.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Develop, document, and validate analytical methods, primarily LC-MS to meet state clinical guidelines (CLIA/CAP/COLA).
· Develop sample preparation procedures to increase the robustness of LC-MS methods and allow higher throughput and accuracy in quantification.
· Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation.
· Data Entry, basic calculations, and statistical analysis.
· Excellent inventory management while utilizing lab software for orders
· Ensure the accuracy of data and timely turnaround to support production timelines and objectives.
· Wet chemistry and sample handling techniques. Experienced pipette skills.
Other Duties may include:
· Reporting Data in LIMS and navigating internal lab software
· Instrument troubleshooting and maintenance
· Revising and writing new SOPs
· Conduct new method development and validation with supervision
Analyst Requirements:
Education:
Louisiana CLS license (Required)
ASCP certification
Work Experience:
Experience as a Medical Technologist/Technician as well as Chemistry experience is preferred
Knowledge of clinical lab operations as well as CLIA regulations, policies, procedures
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods
