Department Overview

Develops final software, ensuring high quality. Implements build/integration process. Develops, codes, tests and debugs new software or enhancements to existing software. Works with technical staff to understand and resolve software problems. Responds to customer suggestions for improvements/enhancements. Supports the understanding of programming technologies available to provide the most efficient means to implement the needed functionality. Drives advancement of technical methods. Establishes enterprise-wide standards for application integration. Plans for future platform requirements to support business needs. Coordinates release with product management. Drives agile processes and methodologies, including Development, Security and Operations (DEVSECOPS).

This position is to design, develop and test software for Manufacturing and Operations products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports full-cycle software development efforts for new and existent applications following standards policies and procedures.
  • Implement and maintain databases, web sites, or scientific or process applications.
  • Perform low to medium complexity data analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Works to achieve day-to-day objectives with moderate impact on work area and with specific guidance on projects with short term focus, while participating in initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Works in teams with limited supervision on low to moderately complex projects / assignments.
  • Collaborate with others to set objectives for own area of responsibility to meet goals of projects and assignments.
  • Document best practices, write standard work, including enhancements to existing ones. Create and participate in meetings with team members to ensure alignment. Applies Agile methodology.
  • Entry-level professional contributor on a project or work team.
  • Has theoretical knowledge and problems faced may be difficult or complex.
  • Work is moderately supervised while influences others within the work area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Software Science or related academic background
  • Fluent in English (verbal/written)
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • US citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work professionally with individuals and in teams
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of database structures
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of the fundamentals and tools commonly used in the discipline: Software Development Life Cycle & Agile; Programming: Java, Java Script; .NET; Database: MS SQL Server, Oracle; Workflow tools: MyWorkflow, Sharepoint, Office: MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
