AMD Sr Systems Engineer Job at Aviation & Missile Solutions
Aviation & Missile Solutions (AMS) is seeking a dynamic Air and Missile Defense (AMD)Senior Systems Engineer to work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office team to assess performance of an integrated air and missile defense system. This will include development and utilization of models and simulations of networked radars, weapons, radio communications systems, and battle management systems in a classified computer laboratory environment.
Must have experience with integrated air and missile defense systems to assess effectiveness of current systems, perform root cause analysis of identified issues, optimize tactical system parameters, and develop improved algorithms for IFMC tactical software. The position will include management of distributed simulation runs and the development of a post-processing/data-reduction software toolset. The position may include prototyping changes to improve defense effectiveness and supporting final assessment of system performance.
Required Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, science, or mathematics is required. Preferred majors are Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science.
Must have a minimum of 10 years work experience in missile defense, to include air defense radars, battle management systems, and performance analysis.
Must be able to generate and brief results of complex studies and analyses for a wide range of audiences.
Must be a team player in a small team environment.
Candidate must be a resident of North Alabama or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, Alabama area. Other Qualifications:
Experience in complex simulations, Linux, and C++ a plus.
Experience with Python and Java a plus.
Experience in networks and communications a plus. Security Requirements:
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
