JOB TITLE Packout Position Description
INDUSTRY JOB TITLE Packout
POSITION DETAILS
Mon – Friday shifts OT as needed HOURS PER WEEK 40
GENERAL
DESCRIPTION This is a non-rotating, straight 8-hour shift position with a normal schedule of M-F, but some weekends may be required.
Safety
The operator follows prescribed safety procedures (Ref. SHMS 004).
Responsibilities
1. INSPECT AND LABEL ALL PACKAGES ON VERDOL DOFF TRUCK.
1.1 ASIDE ALL DEFECTIVE PACKAGES ONTO BAD WORKS TRUCK.
1.2 ALL LABELS MUST CONTAIN PACKER INITIALS, DATE, YARN CODE, LOT NUMBER,
AND SHIFT.
2. USING MEASUREMENT TOOL, DETERMINE PACKAGE SIZE TO INSURE ONLY THE CORRECT SIZE
PACKAGES GO THROUGH THE ROBOTICS SYSTEM.
3. CUT TAIL SAMPLES OFF ALL 72 PACKAGES.
3.1 BUNDLE TAILS TOGETHER AND ATTACH TO LINEN TAG. (Ref. T46292)
3.1.1 RECORD YARN CODE, LOT NUMBER, NUMBER OF TAILS, AND PACKER
INITIALS ON LINEN TAG. (Ref. T46292)
4. ROBOTIC TECHNICIAN LOADS THE YARN ON ROBOT CONVEYOR TO BE STRETCHED WRAPPED.
5. PACKAGES THAT ARE TOO BIG OR TOO SMALL MUST BE PACKED OUT IN BOXES.
5.1 A DYE TAIL SAMPLE MUST BE CUT FROM EACH PACKAGE BEING PACKED INTO
THE BOX.
6. ATTACH LINEN TAG (Ref. T46292) TO DYE TAILS WITH PACKER INITIALS, YARN CODE, AND LOT NUMBER RECORDED ON TAG.A
Authorized Shut Down
The operator is authorized to shut down the machine if it is unsafe or producing off quality.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent education and/or experience
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools typically found in carpet/non-woven- yarn production or a related industry.
PREFERRED
WORK EXPERIENCE
Proven manufacturing experience typically developed through previous experience.
