Job Description:


Cimarron is seeking Aircraft Mechanics to support a large aerospace and defense customer in Jacksonville, FL. This position is supporting a 1-year contract. The selected candidates must have the ability to support the 1st or 2nd shift.

Key Duties:

  • Maintain repairs and modify aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty.
  • Maintain and repair aircraft components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions.
  • Apply required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation.
  • Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals.



Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Due to facility requirements, only U.S. Citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Cimarron employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc.
  • Ability to set up and use a variety of precision measuring instruments, such as dial indicators, micrometers, gauges, protractors, calipers, etc.
  • Ability to use common hand tools such as drills, reamers, deburrers, files, rivet guns, bucking bars, etc.
  • Ability to assemble aircraft structures and associated components with the aid of jigs and fixtures by drilling, filing, filling, honing, reaming, counter-sinking, dimpling, blurring, and fastening under general supervision.
  • Ability to perform close tolerance assembly operations such as shimming, fitting, trimming, and aligning where variances may occur considerably from one assembly to another as with fairings and the mating of major structural assemblies.
  • Ability to replace ribs, stiffeners, and stringers in skinned assemblies established from blueprints with firm callouts, butt, center, chord, station, and water lines.
  • Ability to pick up blind hole locations for blank parts from an existing structure.
  • Ability to operate equipment, such as brakes, grinders, band saws, and presses.
  • Ability to identify different types of corrosion, and with minimal supervision clean and treat corrosion, remove damaged areas, fabricate parts to repair damaged areas, determine rivet patterns, layouts, etc.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbal and written, with other employees, members of management, and others, as required in their duties.
  • Ability to clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment.
  • Ability to navigate basic computer systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office.
  • 3 or more years of aircraft structures experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
