Job Description
As a Solution Manager for Cigna Specialty Solutions, you will serve as an internal voice of the customer with both a current and strategic perspective. The Product Manager Advisor will collaborate with cross-functional teams and the team’s Product Manager Senior Manager to define product solutions and will work closely with internal business users to understand and articulate business requirements to define applicable epics for all impacted Agile Release Trains. The Product Manager Advisor will work closely with the Solution Council, Product Council, and the Agile Release Trains to define content, plan and coordinate release cycles and product increments. To support the overall growth of Cigna Specialty Products, the Product Manager will support the maintenance of a multi-PI agile roadmap, as well as supporting business and IT stakeholders in maintaining the multiyear investment and delivery roadmap with the specific capability needs of Specialty Platform Group. Cigna’s Supplemental Health Solutions offers insurance products designed to supplement standard medical insurance. The products provide benefits paid directly to the policy holder to help cover expenses not covered by health insurance.
Essential Functions
Support the decomposition of business strategies into prioritized initiatives.
Consult with the business stakeholders to understand business requirements and business value drivers to translate them into Epics.
Manage and Maintain the Program Backlog, Groom and Decompose Portfolio and Program Epics and ensure Features align with Program Epics.
Maintain a multi-PI product roadmap to track prioritization of work based on business value, budget and feasibility.
Able to balance a wide range of priorities and manage relationships with business stakeholders and internal team members, all while considering short-term and long-term implications of each decision.
Collaborate with the Solution and Product Council to evaluate the product Roadmap to identify features for development and identify “definition of done’ for each epic.
Collecting the right information to inform the prioritization and scope of work that the Agile Release Train (ART) will complete.
Ensures that business owners are engaged and supportive of direction
Resolves issues escalated by teams and business leads
Consult and advise on functionality, applicability, and usability of technology solutions to project requirements.
Aware of other work being completed within the Portfolio so that they can help teams proactively manage risks and dependencies.
Support functional areas, in the maintenance and enhancement of existing products and provide business and product knowledge
Proactively resolve upstream dependencies and resolve conflict effectively across teams
Advocate for process improvements through an understanding of the lifecycle and previous experience
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Strong Business Analysis skills and Analytical Skills required.
Knowledge of Group Health Insurance Industry preferred.
Prior experience as Agile Product Manager or Agile Solution Manager preferred.
Strong customer service focus through adaptability, flexibility, and a commitment to quality
Effective communication skills, written and verbal.
Problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions.
Demonstrate strong ability to work on multiple initiatives and prioritize work accordingly.
Strong organizational skills, strong communication (clear, concise and precise), and robust analytical skills.
A flexible yet focused approach.
Able to demonstrate a range of collaborative methodologies and processes, preferably in an Agile environment (Certified Agile Product Owner or Certified Scrum Product Manager an asset)
Strong customer service focus through adaptability, flexibility and a commitment to quality
Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) in a work environment
Experience with Rally, JIRA, and/or Confluence preferred
Basic proficiency with database queries and report generation tools preferred
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
