St. Peter School is looking for enthusiastic and organized aftercare teachers interested in joining a team of teaching professionals. Aftercare teachers work with students from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. daily, and 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. one Friday a month. Teachers supervise students as they complete homework, socialize and play. Duties of Aftercare teachers include, but are not limited to, the following: RESPONSIBILITIESTaking daily attendancePlanning and executing educational in-class and outdoor activities and eventsSupervising students during reactional activitiesObserving and understanding student behaviorsMonitoring students for allergic reactionsReporting injuries or behavioral issues to director immediatelyEnsuring constant communication with reception desk teacher so students can be dismissed promptlyProviding students with orderly and quiet environments to complete homeworkEncouraging students to be respectful of the school and property by leaving classroom, hallways, and activity area neat and orderlySKILLSKnowledge of teaching best practices partnered with a willingness to follow the schools policies and proceduresExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsWell-organized, creative, and energeticStrong moral values and disciplineKnowledge of CPR, First Aid and use of the AED
