The Pre School Bus Driver will be in responsible for safely transporting children to and from their homes to the child care facility. The driver will be transporting the children in a 24 passenger short bus with the primary goal of maintaining safety at all times.

The schedule is Monday through Friday 1:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. This is a part time 20 hour per week opportunity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transport children according to established safety rules and road regulations, set by D.O.T., Observing all speed limits and road signs at all times.
• Transport program participants according to established safety rules and road regulations, set by EEC.
• Secure and maintain all required safety equipment in the vehicle.
• Follow the Vehicle Maintenance Protocol and keep the Transportation Coordinator informed of all service needs.
• Report any problems or maintenance concerns to the Transportation Coordinator.
• Keep exterior clean and interior of bus clean and free of potentially hazardous and sharps materials.
• Explain safety procedures to any monitors on the bus.
• Maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
• Ensure that all children are safely seated and have secured seas/seatbelts at all times.
• Monitors orderly entering and exiting of the bus, including helping children on and off bus safely.
• Transports children on a designated route in a timely manner.
• Complete a Daily Pre and Post Trip Inspection Form.
• Prepare trip reports consisting of mileage and gas receipts.
• Maintain a daily transportation log including emergency contact information.
• Ensure that the Daily Passenger Log is complete, signed and turned into the Site Coordinator.
• Respond to reasonable expectations of the Agency and/or supervisor.

Education and Experience:

• A High School Diploma or its Equivalent is required.
• Experience with either children preferred.
• 2 years’ experience driving commercial vehicles preferred.
• Must possess an ability to work with others as part of a team and communicate effectively.

Requirement:

Must have and maintain a valid MA Class D Operators License with both passenger and school bus endorsement with a good driving record. Must be able to successfully pass a random drug and alcohol test in addition to being enrolled in a drug consortium for random testing. Must have current physical and be able to pass EEC background check. Complete and maintain CPR and First Aid certified.
