The Opportunity (on-call/non-permanent):
We are looking for Afterhours Social Service Specialists to join our team to help support and protect children, youth, and families in Region 4. We are seeking high-energy Social Service professionals with excellent child welfare assessment skills, willing to work evenings, weekends, overnight, and holidays in part-time/after-hours jobs. We are recruiting for all levels of Social Service Specialists 1, 2, and 3. You will be working in various office locations throughout King County (Region 4).

Salary Ranges
Social Services Specialist 1 - $23.06 - $31.03/hr
Social Services Specialist 2 - $26.76 - $35.98/hr
Social Services Specialist 3 - $28.11 - $37.79/hr

KING COUNTY PREMIUM: The pay rate listed above does not include the additional 5% premium granted to all King County employees.

After-hours staff respond to and investigate reports of abuse and neglect in a timely and efficient manner during the times that the local Division of Children and Family Service offices are closed. Local offices are closed from 5 pm to 8 am each day, on weekends, and all holidays, although the need to assist children still exists. The average number of hours per week varies depending on the number of days you can work and the number of calls received. You are only expected to be on-call if scheduled to work on the calendar that you help create. There is a lot of flexibility in scheduling but the candidate needs to be available to work at least one weekend shift a week . This after-hours job is excellent for those professionals already employed in social services, but wish to supplement their income. This is also a great opportunity for those starting out in social work, to gain experience in the field. This announcement will be used to generate a candidate pool and fill multiple vacancies.

Here's what we're looking for (Required Qualifications):

NOTE: Degrees must be obtained from an accredited college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or a foreign equivalent verified by a NACES-approved organization at naces.org.

• For Degrees obtained outside the U.S.: Foreign Equivalency certification must be attached to the application. Incomplete applications may be screened out of the recruitment process.
