The Department of Communication Studies at Emerson College is looking
to fill one section of Conflict and Negotiation (CC266), one section of Argument and Advocacy (CC 263), and one section of Research Methods and Practice (CC645, graduate) for the Spring 2023 semester, January 17-May 4, 2023.

CC263 Argument and Advocacy
Tuesday-Thursday 2-3:45PM

Designed to help students identify, construct and analyze
the foundational skills related to argumentation. Students will be
able to understand how argumentation exists in various contexts.

CC266 Conflict and Negotiation
Tuesday-Thursday 12-1:45PM

Studies conflict theory and principles and practices of dispute resolution. Includes everyday conflict, negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution systems. Emphasizes interpersonal skills development.

CC645 Research Methods and Practice
Thursday, 6-9:45PM

Students engage in applied research for public relations, political communication, and sports communication. Students develop skills in assessing and formulating problems; designing research; gathering, synthesizing, analyzing, and interpreting data; and applying the results to comprehensive communication strategies. Students learn to apply the most appropriate quantitative and qualitative research methods to particular research problems in an effort to effectively address stakeholder audiences, oversee information management systems, and cultivate and manage intellectual capital. Students gain experience in surveys, polling, focus groups, interviews, communication audits, and learn how to optimize research conducted through the internet-based research.
