Advanced Practice Provider (Neurosurgery Clinic) Job at Semmes Murphey Clinic
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of the Semmes Murphey physicians. We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to perform clinical consults, order appropriate diagnostic testing, and develop treatment plans for neurosurgical conditions within their scope of practice.

Requirements: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:- Fifth year college or university program certificate for NP/PA
- Current TN license
- Current BLS and ACLS
- Two (2) or more years' experience as a licensed NP/PA
- Neurosurgical experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong working knowledge of patient treatment with a strong focus in neuro
- Proficient computer skills to process, store and retrieve health information
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and medical practice software
- Effective communication, both oral and written, with the ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations
- Can provide excellent customer service and manage difficult or emotional situations
- Ability to comprehend and interpret verbal orders and direction
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Can work with focused concentration
- Ability to make frequent judgments and respond to routine problems
- High level of confidentiality and discretion
- Desire to seek new learning experiences and share knowledge with others
- Accepts challenging opportunities and responsibilities
- Can accept suggestions and recommendations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing these responsibilities the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is required to sit and stand for long periods of time and have the capability for occasional overhead and low reaching. Physical strength for equipment needs and patient care activities require the employee to be able to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity for timely response and patient care assessment activities is required with the ability to move quickly in response to patient needs.

Both nonhazardous and hazardous equipment is present. This position involves Category 1 occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids and material. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.
