The Adult Case Clerk is entrusted with the proper management of filings from adult litigants regarding issues of Custody / Visitation / Child Support / Establishment of Paternity, CSEA Administrative cases, Grandparent/Caretaker Authorizations, Power of Attorney, and Pro Se actions as well as Sealings and Expungements for all case types.
Court Expectations of Employee:
Adhere to Court/County policies and procedures- Case related information is confidential and should not be discussed outside of Court
- Act as a role model both inside and outside the Court
- Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships
- Adhere to the Court’s dress code
- Perform duties as workload necessitates in a timely, accurate and thorough manner
- Manage time and tasks efficiently without supervision on a daily basis
- Maintain a positive and respectful approach both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Court, including on social media
- Do not engage in foul language, offensive gestures, or any other manner of expression including social media which may be offensive to the Court and/or the public
- Communicate regularly with the Chief Deputy Clerk, Assistant Court Administrator, Court Administrator, and/or Judge about any issues
Qualifications/Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of prior work experience in the legal field is preferred.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products, and the ability to become proficient with the Court’s case management system.
Possess or have the capability of obtaining a notary commission from the Ohio Secretary of State.
Requires the ability to interact with the Judge and all Court staff, attorneys, law enforcement, local schools, other agencies, and the public.
Requires the ability to perform basic mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; may also require the ability to calculate percentages, fractions and decimals.
Must be organized, self-motivated with the ability to problem solve, demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy, type minimum 50 wpm, file alphabetically and numerically, and work in a team environment.
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 15 lbs., bend, and sit for extended periods.
Requires strong writing skills and the ability to write complete and concise sentences using proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Additional Information
Full time position - 35 hours per week
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 with one hour unpaid lunch
Pay Rate $16.50 per hour
