OIC CAREER OPPORTUNITY

The Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) is seeking a motivated and qualified individual to fill a, Administrative Assistant 4 position. This position is assigned to the Company Supervision Division, located in our Tumwater office.

This position provides the principal administrative support to the Deputy Commissioner for the Company Supervision Division, the Financial Analysis section, and manager of the Holding Company section. This position is responsible for, but not limited to, planning, and implementing management projects, assignments, and functions to ensure they are on track to meet their strategic and business objectives.

This is a Washington General Service position. The annual salary range for this position is $44,808 - $60,156.

Duties

The duties of this position are, but are not limited to:


  • Draft correspondence, maintain the Deputy’s calendar, and schedule and arrange meetings.
  • Set priorities; prioritize, manage, and direct incoming assignments.
  • Attend meeting on behalf of the assigned program areas or the Deputy.
  • Assist Division Deputy with annual performance review cycle to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain Division Deputy’s files including supervisory files.
  • Serve as liaison between Division Deputy and other staff.
  • Supervise a team, to include administrative and office support to the division.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

AND
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a project, program, or operation.

Administrative support includes those duties beyond office/clerical such as, interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations; administrative data collection and analysis; and evaluation of projects, processes, and operations.

OR

Two (2) years of experience as an Administrative Assistant 3.

OR

Three (3) years of experience as an Administrative Assistant 2.

Additionally, after qualifying by the method above:
  • Intermediate skill level in the Microsoft suite of products - Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Basic skills with Adobe Acrobat DC
  • Type at least 40 words per minute.
  • One year of experience scheduling meetings with multiple attendees who have limited availability, both internal and external.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications of this position include :
  • A Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration or closely allied field.
  • Two years’ experience supporting and executive within an office environment.
  • Experience working in web programs such as Drupal.
  • Experience working in I-Site for posting disciplinary actions against insurance companies.
  • Experience working in SIMBA.
