WORK SCHEDULE:

SUMMARYOF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision by the SUD Clinical Supervisor; the Addictions Therapist/Counselor, Addictive Disorders provides frontline care to consumers in the OP and IOP programs. This position is accountable for assisting consumers in the development and maintenance of healthy lifestyles and recovery management skills. This position requires a thorough understanding of the clinic’s philosophy of treatment, admission process and criteria. Basic knowledge of substance abuse and dual diagnosis is essential. The individual is responsible for ensuring that clinical and administrative services are provided for patients and their families.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide alcohol and drug counseling services to individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders utilizing theoretical-based addiction counseling approaches and methods of counseling, therapy/psychotherapy, and addictionology to persons who are experiencing cognitive, effective or behavioral psychosocial dysfunction as a direct or indirect result of addiction, chemical dependency, abuse of chemical substances or related disorders.
• Perform mental health procedures, addiction prevention, crisis intervention, assessment, diagnostic impressions or diagnosis, referral, direct treatment, and follow-up treatment to individuals, families, couples, groups, organizations, schools, and communities members who are adversely affected by addictions or related disorders within the range of the professional’s preparation and scope of practice.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At minimum, counselors must have approved certification and/or licensure through the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
• Positive Attitude
• Capability to work in a team atmosphere
• Knowledge of addiction
• Comfortable with computers and computer software
• Excellent documentation skills

REQUIREDCERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

Master’s or Bachelor’s Level Clinicians Only

• Alcohol and Drug Trainee – Alcohol and Drug (ADT)
• Certified Supervised Counselor – Alcohol and Drug (CSC-AD)
• Certified Associate Counselor – Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD)
• License Graduate Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LGADC)

ADDITIONAL SKILLS DESIRED:

• Knowledge or experience in Utilization Review/Management
• Experience with Electronic Health Records
• Displays cultural sensitivity and demonstrates the ability to form constructive and collaborative working relationships with others from diverse cultural backgrounds
• Ability to communicate in a culturally inclusive manner and being open to other people’s differences
• High level of organizational skills and the ability to effectivley utilize electronic health records and other essential tools used by the clinic. e.g. DocuSign, Zoom, Adobe, Microsoft Office product and outlook.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
