Job Summary
Part of a dynamic team that works with all areas of the company. This position provides exposure to multiple facets of actuarial work, including life insurance and annuity valuation, financial projection, embedded value, asset/liability management and capital management.
Major Responsibilities and time spent:

• Calculate STAT/GAAP/Tax Reserves/ DAC/VOBA etc. and support quarterly results analysis.

• Develop, maintain, and document valuation and embedded value models.

• Conduct experience analysis and prepare experience reports for management.

• Prepare material for internal and external reporting, including management, internal and external auditors, clients, rating agencies and regulators.

• Help with model conversion, valuation platform conversion and system validation.

Required Qualifications:

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and programming languages (e.g., SQL, VBA). Experience with actuarial software (e.g., AXIS, CASE, , ALFA) a plus.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Able to research problems or questions and provide responses.

• React to change productively and able to prioritize multiple tasks appropriately.

• Prior experience working in a corporate environment (full-time or internship) with knowledge of insurance and reinsurance products a plus.

• A background check and pre-employment screening is required and must be successfully completed prior to employment.

Required Education / Certifications

• A degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or Actuarial Science a plus
• Actively pursuing ASA and FSA with 2-3 Actuarial Exams passed a plus

• Limited to no travel required
• Position is located in Norwalk, CT (flexible work arrangements)

The base salary/hourly rate range for this position in Connecticut is between $65,000 and $105,000. Please note that specific compensation decisions are based upon a variety of job-related factors as permitted by law, including geographic location, credentials, skills, education, training and experience.
