Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist provides full support to the accounting team with a primary responsibility in all accounts payable related tasks. This is an onsite position with potential to become hybrid once fully trained. Compensation starting at $24+/hour, depending on experience. Candidates from Plymouth and Barnstable County are encouraged to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Process A/P invoices
• Check for proper purchasing authorizations and General Ledger accounts when processing invoices
• Process weekly check run, ACH, and Wire Transfer payments
• Research discrepancies, past due invoices, and vendor-related concerns in a timely manner
• Interact with managers and other employees involved in the payables process
• Maintain accurate filing system for vendor invoices, distributor contracts, and other documentation
• Maintain vendor relationships
• 1099 processing and distribution of forms at year end; month-end/year-end account reconciliations to identify and research any discrepancies
• Track budget expenses
• Assist in special projects and tasks on an as-needed basis

Other duties of the Accounts Payable Specialist may be assigned based on experience.

Skills & Qualifications

• A strong understanding in all phases of the accounts payable process
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Other basic accounting concepts, organization, strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Requirements

• 2 to 3 years of Accounts Payable Specialist experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field a plus
