Summary & Responsibilities
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the financial processing of transactions for the company. The duties include daily bookkeeping and record keeping, financial reporting, and periodic preparation of data for financial audits. This position will also oversee payments to vendors, process applicable reimbursements, generate reports and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Manages accounts payable using software, i.e. Quickbooks and other Accounting tools.
- Handling accounts payable for separate entities and vendors
- Analyzes workflow processes
- Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors
- Ensure bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
- Processing due invoices for payments
- Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of accounts.
- Performs all other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a minimum of two years of experience working for a large organization in an Accounts Payable position or Associate Degree and five years of experience working for a large organization in an Accounts Payable position.
- Strong competency and experience with QuickBooks and other accounting tools.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, analytical skills, computer and time management skills required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
