Accounts Payable Clerk Job at Citizens Medical Center
JOB SUMMARY
The Accounts Payable Clerk processes invoices received from vendors for payment for purchases made by the hospital. The Clerk is responsible for making approved payments to vendors each month and accounting for the necessary records and reports substantiating such payments. The Clerk will also process the Accounts Payable check run and related reports. They will assist in other areas of the Accounting Department as needed.
Job Specific:
- Prepares and processes Accounts Payable Vouchers weekly. (EF)
- Processes check requests weekly and manual checks as needed. (EF)
- Processes the Accounts Payable check run and related reports every Thursday. (EF)
- Inputs invoices daily. (EF)
- Monitors and reconciles invoice discrepancies weekly. (EF)
- Files Accounts Payable vouchers within two weeks of pay date. (EF)
- Scans invoices weekly. (EF)
- Assists the Accounting Clerk with various duties related to Accounts Payable. (EF)
- Assists others in the Department as time permits.
Hospital:
- Adheres to organization-wide and other applicable policies and procedures.
- Day-to-day performance complies with the hospital’s Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
- Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital’s Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.
- Performs within his/her professional Scope of Practice at all times.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Required: High School Graduate or Equivalent
Preferred: Additional Education beyond the secondary school level in such areas as Accounting or Business Related Field
EXPERIENCE
Required: Prior work experience in the areas of Accounting, Accounts Payable or Computer Data Entry
Preferred: None
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required: Accurate mathematical skills; Office machine skills including personal computer and calculator; Typing of 35-40 WPM
Preferred: Microsoft Excel and Word Experience

As a condition of employment, Citizens Medical Center requires all new hires to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, unless there is an approved exemption.
