Job Title: Accounts Payable Accountant

Pay Range: $20.67 to $21.96

Position Summary:

The main responsibility of the Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant is to accurately and timely process Accounts Payable. The AP Accountant is responsible for processing purchase orders and running check runs on a weekly basis.

  • Process accounts payable: Processing purchasing orders, running check runs once a week, and communicating with staff in errors are present
  • Maintain distribution codes within the company
  • Reconciliation of restricted funds within the company; including updating spreadsheet on a monthly basis
  • Review and assign maintenance tickets as necessary, including assigning maintenance jobs and outsourcing as necessary
  • Update bank reconciliation on a daily basis
  • Maintain accounting sub-ledgers and supporting documents
  • Reconcile balance sheet for accuracy, verifies balances and makes recommendations for adjustments, if necessary, on at least a monthly basis
  • Review financial statements for accuracy and corrects errors if necessary.


QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this position successfully, an individual must demonstrate regular, predictable attendance and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skill required. The individual must be able to successfully pass routine background checks.


Education/Certification/Licensure:

  • Associates Degree in accounting. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must maintain a valid Indiana Driver's license and meet the requirements of the insurance carrier at all times.

Experience Required:

  • 2-3 years prior accounting, financial reporting, business, or other related field.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
