Position Title: Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager is responsible for supporting the efficient operations of the Finance department, with particular emphasis on payroll management, reconciliations, and tax reporting, Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager will also compile necessary financial reports in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll records and submit to ADP for payroll processing.
  • Prepare reports for sales and occupancy tax returns.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements, including monthly and annual reports.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly and year-end close.
  • Compile information, as requested, for internal audits.
  • Reconcile all house bank accounts monthly.
  • Update and maintain the Capital Status file monthly.
  • Ensure all financial records are maintained in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable or Receivable job functions, as necessary.
  • Interact with guests in person and on the telephone.
  • Review/research guest folios to determine legitimacy of charges / chargebacks with Staff Accountant.
  • Conduct collection calls, as necessary, to ensure timely payment and clean aging.
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.

Shift: Flexible

Day(s) Required: FLEXIBLE including Holidays and Weekends, if needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail, maintaining a keen sense of urgency at all times.
  • Must be self directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional service, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and openly in all interactions, both verbal and written.
  • Keen problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound logic and judgment in evaluating situations and utilizing appropriate resources.
  • Must be able to show initiative in job performance, working effectively within fixed deadlines.
  • Technologically savvy, possessing a strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office software
  • Proficiency in Hotel & Accounting software, including but not limited to: accounting software, Birchstreet, ADP, Micros, and Opera Property Management System, and HotSos.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to meet the business needs of a 24/7 hotel environment, including weekends, evenings and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit at desk, walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line touch tone telephones, filing cabinets, facsimile machines, photocopiers, dollies and other office equipment as needed.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Specific hearing abilities include ability to hear and understand spoken word in person, on the telephone and/or on the computer.

Anticipated Start Date: Two (2) weeks from date of job offer
