SUMMARY
Interfaces with all levels of LAEDC personnel, vendors, bankers, and funders. Manages and provides data input for the organization's financial reporting in the Accounts Payable and Payroll systems, provides internal control, and follows accounting practices by performing the following duties personally. Accounting Manager position computes, classifies, records and verifies data and ensures compliance regarding the organization's policies and contractual legal requirements.

DUTIES
•Manage and process the daily operations of accounting and grant activities required to maintain the general ledger, including but not limited to invoicing funders, recording of expenses and detailed records to document financial transactions for grant funding contracts
•Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports, including inbound/outbound contract data summaries and subcontractor reconciliations, and departmental allocation of expenses
•Provide support for monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities relating to funding contracts and grants to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met to accomplish clean and timely closings and support for the year-end audit
•Manage and reconcile grant staff timekeeping, absenteeism, expense reports and enforce compliance policies and procedures as needed to ensure compliance and accuracy of company policies as related to grant payroll recording and invoicing to funders, and assist with resolving issues
•Manage, review, and provide analysis of capacity reports for department staffing on programmatic projects and funding contracts
•Develop, support and implement recommendations to improve accounting processes through innovative systems and programs
•Support the Director of Accounting with special projects and process improvements, and other duties as assigned or required

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Accounting software; Inventory software; Payroll systems; Internet software; Order processing systems; Database software and Contact Management systems. High level of experience and knowledge required of Excel spreadsheets. Experience with Sage 300 database software preferable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position will operate in a hybrid schedule. The employee will base work from the home office 40% of the work week, and additional time as needed with the option to work remotely on the remaining time. Employees are required to reside in the Los Angeles County Region. The organization will continue to assess the hybrid environment and adjust to meet programmatic needs accordingly.
