ACCOUNT MANAGER | RENTAL AND LEASE SALES - IDEALEASE

Southland Transportation Group, a leader in medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks, buses and trailers, is a company with years of continual growth and service to the trucking industry. Locally owned for more than 40 years, Southland has over 240 employees in Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, Huntsville, Homewood and Birmingham, Alabama.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Builds and maintains a network of customers from which to identify new sales leads
  • Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs; identifies and suggests products and services to meet those needs
  • Demonstrates the functions and utility of products or services to customers based on their needs
  • Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise
  • Monitor the industry’s competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand a customer’s specific needs
  • Maintains communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest
  • Maintains detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems
  • Provides periodic territory sales forecasts
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
  • Ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Current driver’s license with clean record
  • Previous experience in the transportation industry is preferred but not required

Work Environment

  • Travel within assigned sales territory; outside of formal office and inside office at dealership in Huntsville
