Summary:

The Secretary of the VA establishes priorities to provide clarity and focus, ensure organizational improvements, and enable culture change. The Secretary’s priorities are responsive to the needs of the organization and Veteran population and can shift dependent on multiple factors but remain focused on providing efficient and effective services to our Nation’s Veterans. The VHA Office of Healthcare Transformation (OHT) mission is to plan, engineer and implement enterprise Veteran-driven systems of care in support of VA and VHA priorities. OHT collaborates with stakeholders to define common goals and systemically applies the concepts of program management, industrial engineering, and healthcare systems engineering, deriving safe, comprehensive, and efficient solutions within optimized platforms of care delivery.

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Will be responsible for supporting two defined portfolios. Deliver Healthcare and Provide Access to Healthcare.
• Provide healthcare to VHA beneficiaries, which includes assessing health status; planning health services; delivery of care, ensuring quality of services and continuity of care; and managing clinical information and documentation. Includes connected care modalities of telehealth, remote home monitoring, point of service kiosks, and mobile applications/tools. (Projects aligned with this portfolio will not involve direct patient care.).
• Enable access to appropriate healthcare, which includes streamlining efforts to receive case; ensuring care is appropriate in terms of type, care, intensity, location and availability; providing seamless access to health knowledge, enrolling providers, performing eligibility determination and managing patient movement.
• Shall provide support to OHT as it supports the VHA journey from current state to a modern, high-reliability organization exuding Veteran-centric principles.
• Shall support both emerging, immediate, unanticipated requirements, and fluid healthcare initiatives.
• Must demonstrate agility, flexibility, broad support, commitment to customer satisfaction, responsiveness to contract requirements and proactive qualities.
  

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in a health-related field.
• 10 years of experience supporting health analysis, design, and implementation.
• More than five (5) years of experience implementing programs related to health care delivery and/or access to healthcare.
• Knowledge of technological healthcare solutions.
• More than five (5) years of clinical experience (either as a clinician or as a healthcare administrator working directly in a clinical area).

Clearance: Must pass a NACI background check.

Location: NCR, Washington DC.

Travel: Travel within the United States and its territories may be necessary.
