AMS is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. AMS provides responsive, cost-effective engineering and scientific solutions ranging from air and missile defense technologies, command and control, radar systems, seekers, modeling & simulation, and prototype hardware development and testing.

The Software Engineer in this role will work on-site at Redstone Arsenal and will support the development, testing, integration, and evaluation of the A3 Sentinel radar. The candidate will be expected to design, develop, and optimize software for use in applications such as radars, digital simulations, data links, and data reduction/data analysis tools.
Experience and Skills:

Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school. Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of applicable experience or a minimum 3.5 GPA.

Experienced candidates should be prepared to demonstrate:

• Fluency with C, C++, and/or Python
• Familiarity with an iterative software design process, such as Agile and/or Continuous Delivery
• Practical experience with automated software testing, including Continuous Integration systems, and code review processes
• Competence with version control systems, such as Git
• Practical experience with the simulation environment

Candidate must be willing to travel for field test events when required. Field test support includes travel, radar equipment setup and teardown, and light lifting (up to 30 or 40 lbs.).

Experience with the following tools, concepts, and products is a plus:

• Radar
• Digital Simulations
• Data links
• System performance optimization
• GNU/Linux operating system
• VxWorks operating system
• Matlab or Python

Candidates must have good verbal, written, and visual communication skills and be able to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
