Position: Insurance Specialist - Hospital Billing

Location: Remote

Duration: 6-month Contract-to-hire

Start Date: Jan 9, 2023

Business Objective:

We are looking for folks who have hospital-based AR follow-up experience, and can ramp up quickly to keep up with this client’s rapid growth.

Training:

Training on technologies, as well as the client scripted playbook will be provided during the first two weeks – Ramp-up period will last 60-90 days.

Responsibilities:

• Follow-up up on non-paid claims, working denials and claims management.
• Respond to denials, handle short pays, COB, and non-cover charges.
• Managed all aspects of A/R for various departments/brands of the company for their partners
• Collect, deposit, and apply all received payments to customer accounts accurately within the accounting system
• Review status of delinquent accounts, initiates and manages ongoing collection activity
• Responsible for all A/R collections, and production of A/R aging reports
• Maintain accurate and organized customer files and A/R records, keep track of name change, address changes, and mailing attention for all accounts. Properly document customer correspondence.
• Review and reconcile AR and AP aging reports

KPI’s:

· 40 claims followed up on/responded to daily (60-90 day ramp up period to get to this volume)

· 95% accuracy from a Quality perspective

Top Requirements:

· A/R follow up background within a hospital setting (let’s look for at least 1-year of experience) Follow up and reimbursement experience

· Familiarity with any EMR (Epic, Cerner, Athena, etc.) *Client is on Meditech, training will be provided

· Need to understand billing but we are NOT looking for billers

Soft Skills:

· Critical thinker, ability to work independently

· Adaptability – will be necessary to keep up with client’s changing processes weekly

· Accountability, professionalism, at-home workspace

Nice to haves:

· Medicaid/Medicare specific experience

· Familiarity working with any large payers (Aetna, Anthem, etc)

· Meditech experience

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $19.00 per hour
