POSITION SUMMARY

Supervise and coordinate the activities of production associates. Assist the department by being involved in safety, quality, and production aspects within the department. The Casting Area Leader will be asked to prepare and discuss downtime and other work conflicts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Enforce safety regulations.
• Direct and coordinate the activities of Associates
• Read work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports
• Discuss shift issues with other supervisors
• Plan work overtime and assignments.
• Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Demonstrate work operations and safety procedures to new Associates, or assign Associates to experienced workers for training.
• Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints.
• Maintain operations data such as time, production, and cost records, and prepare management reports of production results.
• Recommend or implement measures to motivate Associates and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
• Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions.
• Set up and adjust machines and equipment.

Education

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience

One to two years related experience

Physical Requirements

• Vision (Near, Distance, Depth Perception)
• Sense of Sound (10dB, Audible to Safety Alarms)
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (ACM Requirements)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the Area Leader is regularly exposed to high temperatures, occasionally will be exposed to vibration. Area Leaders do work on the production floor and will need to learn various positions.
